John Vella (John Vella) was born on April 21, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio. After going to high school at Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, CA), Vella attended the University of Southern California. Vella made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 8 year career.
