Born on May 4, 1936 in Monroe, North Carolina, John Tsitouris (John Philip Tsitouris) played for the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 11 year career. Tsitouris broke into the bigs on June 13, 1957 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.97 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched in 1959, his rookie year.

Most people believe that John Tsitouris's best season was 1963, when he posted a 3.16 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 113 batters.
