John Tripson (John Robert Tripson) was born on September 17, 1919 in Madero, Texas. After going to high school at Mission (TX), Tripson attended Mississippi State University. Tripson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
