John Thompson (John Washington Thomspon) was born on January 18, 1957 in Jackson, Mississippi. After going to high school at Skyline (Oakland, CA), Thompson attended Utah State University and Weber State University. Thompson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1982 was John Thompson's best year.
