John Stone (John Thomas Stone) was born on October 10, 1905 in Lynchburg, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on August 31, 1928 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1929, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI. Stone played for the Detroit Tigers and Washington Senators over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that John Stone's best season was 1932, when he slugged 17 home runs, hit for a .297 average and knocked in 108 runs.
