Born on December 10, 1866 in Louisville, Kentucky, John Sowders (John Sowders) played for the Indianapolis Hoosiers, Kansas City Cowboys and Brooklyn Wonders over the course of his 3 year career. Sowders broke into the bigs on June 28, 1887 with the Indianapolis Hoosiers, and put up a 4.82 ERA in 185 innings pitched in 1889, his rookie year.
