Born on November 27, 1896 in Gallipolis, Ohio, John Singleton (John Edward Singleton) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 1 year career. Singleton broke into the bigs on June 8, 1922 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 5.90 ERA in 93 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.
