John Simerson (John Cooke Simerson) was born on April 20, 1935 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After going to high school at Roosevelt (Honolulu, HI), Simerson attended Purdue University. Simerson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 2 year NFL career.Simerson also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Boston Patriots and Houston Oilers over the course of his 2 year AFL career.
