John Shaffer

Born on February 18, 1864 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, John Shaffer (John W. Shaffer) played for the New York Metropolitans for his entire 2 year career. Shaffer broke into the bigs on September 13, 1886 with the New York Metropolitans, and put up a 1.96 ERA in 69 innings pitched in 1886, his rookie year.
