John Ryan (John Joseph Ryan) in Kewanee, Illinois. After going to high school at St. Edward's Prep (Austin, TX), Ryan attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Ryan made his professional debut in the NFL in 1929 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans and Chicago Bears over the course of his 2 year career.
