John Nolan (John Joseph Nolan) was born on February 26, 1926 in Glens Falls, New York. After going to high school at St. Mary's Academy (Glen Falls, NY), Nolan attended Holy Cross College and Pennsylvania State University. Nolan made his professional debut in the NFL in 1948 with the Boston Yanks. He played for the New York Yanks, New York Bulldogs and Boston Yanks over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1949 was John Nolan's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
