John Monroe (John Allen Monroe) was born on August 24, 1898 in Farmersville, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1921 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1921, his rookie year, he hit .266 with 2 home runs and 11 RBI. Monroe played for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Giants over the course of his 1 year career.
