John McGraw (John Joseph McGraw) was born on April 7, 1873 in Truxton, New York. He made his Major League debut on August 26, 1891 for the Baltimore Orioles. In 1892, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 1 home run and 26 RBI. McGraw played for the Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that John McGraw's best season was 1894, when he stole 78 bases, hit for a .340 average and knocked in 92 runs.
