Born on April 11, 1956 in Wyandotte, Michigan, John Martin (John Robert Martin) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 4 year career. Martin broke into the bigs on August 27, 1980 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.42 ERA in 102.2 innings pitched in 1981, his rookie year.
Most people believe that John Martin's best season was 1981, when he posted a 3.42 ERA.
