John Mahoney (John Jacob Mahoney) was born on October 16, 1899 in Buffalo, New York. After going to high school at Canisius Prep (Buffalo, NY), Mahoney attended Canisius College. Mahoney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Buffalo All-Americans. He played for the Buffalo All-Americans for his entire 1 year career.
