John Kirby (John Patrick Kirby) was born on May 30, 1942 in David City, Nebraska. After going to high school at St. Mary's (David City, NE), Kirby attended the University of Nebraska. Kirby made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1965 was John Kirby's best year.
