John Kapele (John Kamana Kapele) was born on October 19, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After going to high school at James B. Castle (Kaneohe, HI), Kapele attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Kapele made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1961 was John Kapele's best year.
