John Harty (John Daniel Harty) was born on December 17, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa. After going to high school at Heelan (Sioux City, IA), Harty attended the University of Iowa. Harty made his professional debut in the NFL in 1981 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for his entire 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1982 was John Harty's best year.
