John Greene (John Joseph Greene) was born on April 21, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Kiski Prep (Pittsburgh, PA), Greene attended the University of Michigan. Greene made his professional debut in the NFL in 1944 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1949 was John Greene's best year, as he hauled in 42 receptions, had 542 receiving yards and caught 7 TD passes.
