John Golemgeske (John William Golemgeske) was born on November 14, 1915 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After going to high school at Waukesha (WI), Golemgeske attended the University of Wisconsin. Golemgeske made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 4 year career.
