John Gelnar

Born on June 25, 1943 in Granite, Oklahoma, John Gelnar (John Richard Gelnar) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Pilots and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 5 year career. Gelnar broke into the bigs on August 4, 1964 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.31 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.
Most people believe that John Gelnar's best season was 1969, when he posted a 3.31 ERA and struck out 69 batters.
