Born on April 12, 1912 in Portland, Oregon, Jack Wilson (John Francis Wilson) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 9 year career. Wilson broke into the bigs on September 9, 1934 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.22 ERA in 64 innings pitched in 1935, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Wilson's best season was 1937, when he posted a 3.70 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 137 batters.
