Born on October 7, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri, John O'Donoghue (John Eugene O'Donoghue) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Pilots, Montreal Expos and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 9 year career. O'Donoghue broke into the bigs on September 29, 1963 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 4.92 ERA in 173.2 innings pitched in 1964, his rookie year.

Most people believe that John O'Donoghue's best season was 1967, when he posted a 3.24 ERA and struck out 81 batters.
