Born on December 24, 1960 in Bronx, New York, John Costello (John Reilly Costello) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Montreal Expos and San Diego Padres over the course of his 4 year career. Costello broke into the bigs on June 2, 1988 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 62.1 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that John Costello's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.32 ERA.
