John Charles (John Charles) was born on May 9, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey. After going to high school at Linden (NJ), Charles attended Purdue University. Charles made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the Boston Patriots. He played in the AFL for 3 years, playing for the Boston Patriots the entire time. Charles also played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 5 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1971 was John Charles's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
