[edit] Biography
The 6'10 240-pound California product starred at USC and was well-known heading into the NBA. A solid NBA big man at both ends, Block was a member of the expansion San Diego Rockets along with Elvin Hayes and Don Kojis. He later played with the Kansas City Kings after demanding a trade from the woeful 1972-73 9-73 Philadelphia 76ers.
Block may be most known for his volunteer work in Africa, which continued well past his NBA career ended in the mid-1970s. A teacher, coach and missionary, Block remains active today in Africa, helping people face their challenging conditions.
