Joey Maxwell (Joseph William Maxwell) was born on November 5, 1904 in Cincinnati, Ohio. After going to high school at Central Catholic (Philadelphia, PA), Maxwell attended the University of Notre Dame. Maxwell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1927 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets for his entire 3 year career.
