Joey Cora (Jose Manuel (Amaro) Cora) was born on May 14, 1965 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on April 6, 1987 for the San Diego Padres. In 1987, his rookie year, he hit .237 with 0 home runs and 13 RBI. Cora played for the San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 11 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Joey Cora's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1997, when he hit for a .300 average and knocked in 54 runs. However, others believe that it was 1993, when he knocked in 51 runs.
