Joel Wells (Joel Whitlock Wells) was born on November 26, 1935 in Columbia, South Carolina. After going to high school at Dreher (Columbia, SC), Wells attended Clemson University. Wells made his professional debut in the NFL in 1961 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
