[edit] Biography

Born on September 25, 1978 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Joel Pineiro (Joel Alberto Pineiro) played for the Seattle Mariners for his entire 7 year career. Pineiro broke into the bigs on August 8, 2000 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 2.03 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Joel Pineiro's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2003, when he posted a 3.78 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 151 batters. However, others believe that it was 2002, when he posted a 3.24 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 136 batters.
