Joel Mccoy (Joel Lawson McCoy) was born on August 22, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama. After going to high school at (Birmingham, AL), Mccoy attended the University of Alabama. Mccoy made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
