Joe Yackanich (Joseph Peter Yackanich) was born on March 31, 1922. After going to high school at Hazelton (PA) and Seton Hall Prep (South Orange, NJ), Yackanich attended Fordham University. Yackanich made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees for his entire 3 year career.
