Joe Ward (Joseph Aloysius Ward) was born on September 2, 1884 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 24, 1906 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 0 home runs and 23 RBI. Ward played for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Highlanders over the course of his 3 year career.
