Joe Vance (Joseph Albert Vance) was born on September 16, 1905 in Devine, Texas. After going to high school at Devine (TX), Vance attended Southwest Texas State University and the University of Texas. Vance made his professional debut in the NFL in 1931 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 1 year career.
