Joe Tofil (Joseph John Tofil) was born on March 15, 1918 in Campbell, Ohio. After going to high school at Memorial (Campbell, OH), Tofil attended Indiana University. Tofil made his professional debut in the NFL in 1942 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 1 year career.
