Joe Stripp (Joseph Valentine Stripp) was born on February 3, 1903 in Harrison, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on July 2, 1928 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .288 with 1 home run and 17 RBI. Stripp played for the Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Braves over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Joe Stripp's best season was 1932, when he hit for a .303 average and knocked in 64 runs.
