Joe Strain (Joseph Allan Strain) was born on April 30, 1954 in Denver, Colorado. He made his Major League debut on June 28, 1979 for the San Francisco Giants. In 1979, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 1 home run and 12 RBI. Strain played for the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 3 year career.
