Joe Shield (Joseph Michael Shield) was born on June 26, 1962 in Brattleboro, Vermont. After going to high school at Academy (Worcester, MA), Shield attended Trinity College. Shield made his professional debut in the NFL in 1986 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers and then the New England Patriots for his entire 2 year career.
