Joe Schaffer (Joseph Leonard Schaffer) was born on October 14, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio. After going to high school at Elder (Cincinnati, OH), Schaffer attended the University of Tennessee. Schaffer made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the Buffalo Bills for his entire 1 year career.
