Born on October 28, 1917 in Cherry Valley, Pennsylvania, Joe Page (Joseph Francis Page) played for the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 8 year career. Page broke into the bigs on April 19, 1944 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.56 ERA in 102.2 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Page's best season was 1949, when he posted a 2.59 ERA, won 13 games, notched 27 saves and struck out 99 batters.
