Joe Owens (Joseph T. Owens) was born on November 8, 1946 in Columbia, Mississippi. After going to high school at Jefferson (Columbia, MS), Owens attended Alcorn State University. Owens made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Oilers and San Diego Chargers over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1973 was Joe Owens's best year.
