Joe Orengo (Joseph Charles Orengo) was born on November 29, 1914 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1939 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 7 home runs and 56 RBI. Orengo played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Joe Orengo's best season was 1940, when he hit for a .287 average and knocked in 56 runs.
