Joe Oliver (Joseph Melton Oliver) was born on July 24, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on July 15, 1989 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1989, his rookie year, he hit .272 with 3 home runs and 23 RBI. Oliver played for the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Joe Oliver's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he knocked in 75 runs. However, others believe that it was 1992, when he knocked in 57 runs.
