Joe Maras (Joseph Thomas Maras) was born on January 19, 1916 in Hibbing, Minnesota. After going to high school at Hibbing (MN), Maras attended Duquesne University and Hibbing Community College. Maras made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 3 year career.
