Born on July 2, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa, Joe Magrane (Joseph David Magrane) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, California Angels and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 8 year career. Magrane broke into the bigs on April 25, 1987 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.54 ERA in 170.1 innings pitched in 1987, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Magrane's best season was 1989, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 127 batters.
