Joe Leighty (Orland Freed Leighty) was born on December 29, 1895 in Lincoln Township, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Connellsville (PA), Leighty attended Georgetown University. Leighty made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Washington Senators. He played for the Washington Senators for his entire 1 year career.
