Joe Koppe (Joseph Koppe) was born on October 19, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. He made his Major League debut on August 9, 1958 for the Milwaukee Braves. In 1959, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 7 home runs and 28 RBI. Koppe played for the Milwaukee Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels and California Angels over the course of his 8 year career.
