Born on May 24, 1979 in La Mesa, California, Joe Kennedy (Joseph Darley Kennedy) played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Colorado Rockies and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 6 year career. Kennedy broke into the bigs on June 6, 2001 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and put up a 4.44 ERA in 117.2 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year. He died unexpectedly in his Florida home on November 23, 2007 for an unknown reason.

Most people believe that Joe Kennedy's best season was 2004, when he posted a 3.66 ERA and struck out 117 batters.
