Joe Hollingsworth (Joseph DeWitt Hollingsworth) was born on June 20, 1925 in Durham, Georgia. After going to high school at Lynch (KY), Hollingsworth attended Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Georgia. Hollingsworth made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1951 was Joe Hollingsworth's best year.
