Joe Hernandez (Jose M. Hernandez) was born on February 9, 1940 in Bakersfield, California. After going to high school at Garces Memorial (Bakersfield, CA), Hernandez attended Bakersfield JC, New Mexico Military Institute Junior College and the University of Arizona. Hernandez made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 1 year career.
